Dollar Stores: A Great Price for the Recession

(Snip) The chain, which operates about 3,700 stores in 48 states, saw its profits rise 51%, to $56.9 million, for the quarter that ended Aug. 1. In a depressed retail environment, same'store sales jumped 6.8% for the quarter; the retailer's shares have risen over 40% since mid'February.
