Everyone would be driving a Volkswagen, and the government would be running everything, including health care.Adolf Hitler demonstrated that one does not need atomic or nuclear weapons to be responsible for the murder of more than fifty million people.

Oil rig overturns in La.; no leaks detected

Officials say an oil drilling rig on its way to a scrap yard has overturned in Louisiana.No injuries have been reported. The overturned rig is unrelated to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico that threatens the coast's fragile ecosystem.(Snip)It can carry about 20,000 gallons of diesel fuel, but Coast Guard officials did not know how much fuel was on board. Coast Guard investigators say no fuel leaks have been found.About 500 feet of boom has been set up around the rig to contain any fuel that might leak as a precaution.

False alarm raised over Napa quake

Richard Buckmaster, a geophysicist at the USGS's National Earthquake Reporting Center, says officials are trying to determine why the computer generated the "dubious or erroneous" alert Friday afternoon. He says the center's equipment saw no evidence that Napa had experienced even a much smaller quake.

Activists plan four May Day immigration marches

At 3 p.m., demonstrators will travel east on Washington Boulevard toward the Daley Center, with activities ending at about 5 p.m., the Chicago Police Department said.
