Iraqi’US forces arrest five al’Qaeda suspects near Baghdad

Deutsche Presse'Agentur, by Staff Posted By: Photoonist- Fri, 30 Apr 2010 20:05:13 GMT Baghdad ' Five suspected al'Qaeda members were arrested Friday during a series of joint Iraqi'US raids south of Baghdad, the US forces in Iraq said in a statement. The joint forces were searching three buildings in the Mahmudiyah area, some 25 kilometres south of Baghdad, for a suspected high' ranking leader of al'Qaeda in Iraq. Evidence gathered at the scene led to the arrest of the five suspects. Iraqi and US forces have launched a major offensive against al' Qaeda suspects throughout the country.
