IAEA report on Iran likely to boost West’s opposition to Tehran’s fuel swap offer

Associated Press, by Staff Posted By: Photoonist- Mon, 31 May 2010 21:37:12 GMT Vienna ' Iran has amassed more than two tons of enriched uranium, the U.N. atomic agency said Monday in a report that heightened Western concerns about the country developing the ability to produce a nuclear weapon. Two tons of uranium would be enough for two nuclear warheads, although Iran says it does not want weapons and is only pursuing civilian nuclear energy. (Snip) Separately, the International Atomic Energy Agency — the U.N. nuclear watchdog — said Syria continues to stonewall agency reports to follow up on U.S. assertions that a facility destroyed three years ago by Israeli warplanes was a

Useful Idiots at Sea

Commentary Magazine, by J. E. Dyer Posted By: medaura- Mon, 31 May 2010 21:37:04 GMT Ed Morrissey at Hot Air has a very good summary of points about the Hamas'backed attempt to break the maritime blockade of Gaza on May 31. The summary includes links on the Turkish “aid” group, Insani Yardim Vakfi (IHH), and its associations with the Muslim Brotherhood and all the usual suspects of Islamist terror (including the Millennium bombing plot in 1999). There is convincing video footage of the fight mounted by the peace activists – using knives, metal pipe, handguns, stun grenades, and incendiary devices – against the Israeli commandos

Jenin on the high seas

National Post [Toronto], by Jonathan Kay Posted By: canuckbrain- Mon, 31 May 2010 21:33:39 GMT If Israel truly had wanted to “massacre” the Hamas sympathizers and fellow travellers aboard a six'ship Gaza'bound flotilla, the operation would not have been complicated. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) would have used the trusty North Korean solution: Torpedo the ships and watch them sink to the bottom of the sea. That’s certainly what Hamas would have done to a boatload of Jews, if it got the chance.

Wasilla Paper Warns Palin Author of Deadly Force Law

CBS News, by Scott Conroy Posted By: Photoonist- Mon, 31 May 2010 21:24:31 GMT In an editorial posted on its website Sunday night, Sarah's Palin's hometown newspaper in Wasilla, Alaska, warned author and journalist Joe McGinniss (who has moved next door to Palin as he conducts research for a book on the former governor) about a state law that allows the use of deadly force to defend one's property. The editorial, titled "Wasilla fence fascinating for national media outlets," paints a disparaging portrait both of McGinniss' work and the national media's coverage of his controversial decision to take up temporary residence so close to Palin.

Today’s Political Mandate ‘ Become America Again

Scripps Howard News Service, by Star Parker Posted By: Photoonist- Mon, 31 May 2010 21:01:22 GMT With the first round of primaries behind us, pundits are trying to nail down the national mood. Anti'Democrat? Anti'liberal? Anti'incumbent? Abraham Lincoln summed up American politics over 150 years ago that is as accurate and relevant today as it was then: “In this age, and in this country, public sentiment is everything. With it, nothing can fail; against it, nothing can succeed. Whoever molds public sentiment goes deeper than he who enacts statutes, or pronounces judicial decisions.” Our current political leadership is out of touch with public sentiment.

The Hill [Washington, DC], by Bridget Johnson Posted By: Photoonist- Mon, 31 May 2010 20:52:42 GMT The ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee said Monday that he's studying options for investigating the Sestak affair if the administration does not responded to calls for an inquiry. (Snip) Rep. Lamar Smith (R'Texas) said on Fox News that he and 13 other Republican members sent the letter to FBI Director Robert Mueller on Friday requesting an investigation because "it's not really up to White House to decide whether they did anything wrong or not." Smith also doubted the ability of the Department of Justice to conduct an "objective investigation," saying that the department was "too politicized." The congressman
