Kagan Hearings Surpass World Cup For Most Boring TV Event

Townhall, by Ann Coulter Posted By: KarenJ1- Wed, 30 Jun 2010 23:57:59 GMT The two main points being made by Democrats in support of Elena Kagan's nomination to the Supreme Court merely serve to remind us that Democrats are inveterate liars. First, it has been repeatedly observed how wonderful it is that Ms. Kagan is "someone who's an intellectual heavyweight who's going to give Roberts a run for the money" '' as Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D'Minn., put it. Whew! Good thing the Democrats got that Hispanic nominee out of the way, so they could appoint somebody with intellectual heft! Hey! What happened to the "wise Latina"? At least now you know what

AP Equates Illegal Immigrants to Civil Rights’Era Minorities

NewsBusters, by Katie Bell Posted By: KarenJ1- Wed, 30 Jun 2010 23:53:30 GMT The "struggle" illegal immigrants face as they seek the same benefits and services afforded to U.S. citizens is the same that faced civil right activists in the middle of the 20th century, according to the Associated Press. "Students fighting laws that target illegal immigrants are taking a page from the civil rights era," reporter Rusell Contreras wrote, "adopting tactics and gathering praise and momentum from the demonstrators who marched in the streets and sat at segregated lunch counters as they sought to turn the public tide against racial segregation." Contreras cited several illegal immigrant activists comparing themselves to protestors.

Disappointing, But Not Unexpected: HuffPo ‘Comedy’ Celebrates ‘Tea Party Jesus’

Newsbusters, by Jeff Poor Posted By: Rufus2007- Wed, 30 Jun 2010 23:53:09 GMT It's a curious phenomenon to see what the minds at The Huffington Post deem funny, and at least this one wasn't filed under the category "HuffPo Religion," but a series of images depicting Jesus Christ making unhinged statements wins the HuffPo's "Comedy" classification. In a June 30 post, Katla McGlynn wrote that mocking Tea Party protesters by "juxtaposing" "hateful, ignorant, or otherwise nonsensical rants" but at the same time mocking a religious figure many hold very is sacred isn't only funny but it is also instructive about what she described as "people who claim to be Christians."

NYT’s Maureen Dowd Critiques: ‘Thin’Skinned Obama’ Doesn’t Like Media Portrayal

NewsBusters, by Scott Whitlock Posted By: KarenJ1- Wed, 30 Jun 2010 23:42:45 GMT Appearing with Good Morning America's George Stephanopoulos on Wednesday, liberal journalist Maureen Dowd derided Barack Obama as "think'skinned" and not happy with media coverage. This prompted Stephanopoulos to admit, "And his press hasn't been nearly as bad as he thinks." Dowd prefaced her critique by analyzing Obama's self image: "...I cut him a lot of slack here, because many presidents like JFK and W have rich daddies. And so, they have a lot of confidence. But he's had to develop a lot of shields." The New York Times columnist continued, "So, he's thin'skinned. And when you're thin'skinned,

Sarah Palin moves Reagan’s alma mater

Chicago Tribune, by Rob Manker Posted By: brianod1- Wed, 30 Jun 2010 23:42:40 GMT Eureka! She misplaced it. For the second time in recent months, a celebrity has royally goofed when speaking of colleges or universities with Illinois ties. First it was "Today" show anchor Ann Curry delivering the commencement address May 22 at Wheaton College in Norton, Mass. When mentioning several of the school's distinguished alumni, she instead rattled off graduates of the Wheaton College located 25 miles west of Chicago. Oops. Now, it's Sarah Palin who, speaking at a fundraiser at Cal State'Stanislaus on Friday, inadvertently relocated the alma mater of President Ronald Reagan Staff added text
