Polanski’s Polymorphous Perversity

After more than thirty years Oscar® winning director Roman Polanski, the infamous child rapist and decades-long fugitive from justice, has been captured. He should be extradited back to California as soon as possible for sentencing.

Some of Polanski’s early apologists and defenders are likely now entertaining discomforting second-thoughts about their hasty signing of the petition demanding his immediate release from captivity, as indeed some are also now furiously backpedaling in regret over their indiscretion of speaking out publicly on his behalf.

It seems an appropriate time to review some origins and history underlying the modern psychological rationales currently attempting to dilute and evade Polanski’s morally deviant nihilism, and the cognitive dissonance (i.e., “it wasn’t ‘rape’ rape”) introjected by countercultural pseudo-intellectual sycophants.

Its members’ values inculcation was, with purposeful destructiveness, initiated early last century by an all-too-often overlooked intellectual vanguard. So, in deconstructing the value of his sexual crimes, Polanski’s sophistic defenders were/are perhaps unwittingly acting out a reflexive cultural pre-conditioning, rather than logic and reason. This is hardly surprising, considering the players, yet the whys and wherefores are important, if only for historical perspective.

Consider last century’s counter-revolutionary works by postmodern cultural Marxism’s Intellectual Moron gurus:

Such as Alfred C. Kinsey, whose “‘pansexual worldview’ says that all forms of sexual expression are equal and acceptable.”

Or, Herbert Marcuse’s Eros & Civilization that, pace William Lind, ‘condemned all restrictions on sexual behavior. Calling instead for “polymorphous perversity” that, by the way, helped open the door for aspects of the political correctness movement. Its self-congratulatory, narcissistic foundation for Marcuse’s good human society whose liberating tolerance for “non-procreative Eros” was intended, per Roger Kimball, to help society ‘find great enlightenment and great happiness which was supposed to be the key to utopia’.

UC Berkeley professor Martin Jay (2:20 mark…) summarizes that polymorphous perversity “argues that at certain early developmental levels of the human psyche, there was a potential for sexual expression/sexual pleasure which had not yet been organized into the restricted notions of heterosexual sexuality. And that these had some sort of capacity to be reinvigorated.”

Correlation: Leading Polanski petitioner Woody Allen has produced intimate knowledge of this Freudian psychoanalytic term (promoted by Marcuse):  In his Oscar® winning “Annie Hall,” Allen’s character tells his girlfriend he loves her because she is “polymorphic perverse.”  Likewise, in Allen’s “Celebrity” a nubile female model claims to be a “polymorphic perverse,” whom the protagonist finds invigorating. In another of Allen’s films, “Manhattan,” he portrays a divorced man dating a high-schooler (Mariel Hemingway).

Elsewhere more recently, in American Splendor, Joyce Brabner informs Harvey Pekar that his friend Robert Crumb is “polymorphously perverse.”

Coincidence? Not a chance…

PJTV’s Bill Whittle  neatly condenses this history in “The Truth About The Tyranny of Political Correctness.”

Polanski’s current intolerant defenders’ politically correct instincts to apply empathy and/or glorify the iconic-old-fugitive-child-rapist might afford some comfort while insulated within the closed-circles of elite and fashionable salons and retreats.

However, the practical consequences of such a rash decision — and any subsequent indignant retreats in faux-‘victimhood’ or mountings to self-anointed moral ‘high ground’ should, for those with any common sense of decency remaining, become imminently difficult, if not impossible to ignore from colleagues, audiences and customers whom reside in the real world down here on Olympus’ lower slopes

The temptation of mercy and patient edification for the clueless (a.k.a., ‘useful idiots’) is strong and perhaps even good. After all, it’s really little more than their ignorant do-gooder idealism that causes them to swoon for perverted totalitarian ideologies.

Intolerant, stubbornly divisive, self-satisfied Polanski-apologist glitterati, continue to receive well-earned rejection and scorn from regular Americans.

As for child-rapist Polanski: it is long past time for the Crimes & Consequences of this perverted ‘progressive’ icon to be administered once and for all… Guilty as charged.

Olympian Fail: Valerie Jarrett’s Third Strike?

Valerie Jarrett, Barack Obama’s long-time Chicago crony and current White House special advisor, may have just struck out with her ill advice for the president’s IOC blunder in Copenhagen.

43212399

As LA Examiner’s Kelli Kobor noted yesterday

It is unlikely that the Obamas will eject a close and trusted friend from their inner circle over a relatively minor (as these things go) political embarrassment.  But it is an open question whether Jarrett can withstand a steady string of scandals, of which her handling of the Olympics is only the most recent.  Just two months ago she was wounded by her association with “Green Jobs Czar” Van Jones, who had to resign when it was revealed that he had signed more than one petition accusing George W. Bush’s White House of complicity in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Ms. Kobor wisely notes strikes 1 & 3.

But let us not lose sight of Ms. Jarrett’s strike #2:  The NEA conference calls and meetings, for which Ms. Jarrett may have authorized her deputies Buffy Wicks, Tina Tchen et al. to participate in order to incompetently (unlawfully?) promote the president’s legislative agenda.

California Rep. Darrell Issa, Ranking Minority Member on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform sent Ms. Jarrett a letter September 22, requesting:

In order to assist the Committee with its investigation of this matter [NEA call], please provide the following information by close of business on Friday, October 2, 2009:

1. A full and complete list of all participants on the August 10, 2009 conference call.

2. A full and complete explanation of how invitees to the August 10,2009 conference call were selected.

3. A full and complete description of any consultation of, or opinion provided by, the Office of the White House Counsel or any other advisor regarding the legal implications of the August 10, 2009 conference call specifically and/or the relationship between the White House and NEA generally.

4. A full and complete description of how the August 10,2009 conference call was arranged, including which White House staff initiated contact with, or were contacted by, NEA staff, the role of the White House Office of Public Engagement, and the role of the Corporation for National and Community Service.

5. A full and complete explanation of the White House’s expectations for call participants in response to the August 10, 2009 conference call.

6. A full and complete list of, any material produced by call participants in response to the August I0, 2009 conference call.

Whether Ms. Jarrett complied with the Oct. 2 deadline remains to be seen.

Likewise, whether her reply will satisfactorily answer Rep. Issa’s questions remains to be seen.

However, what is clear in terms of Valerie Jarrett’s political ‘at-bat’:

Van Jones: wheelhouse-take — strike 1.

NEA: foul to left — strike 2.

Olympian Fail: lurching pratfall swing at a knuckler in dirt — steee-rike 3, Yer Out!

Time will tell, but Ms. Kobor’s insight “The fallout from last Friday’s drama in Copenhagen may be just beginning” looks like a Home Run.

Exit question: What might Mrs. Clinton be planning at State?

NEA Call Not Meant to ‘Promote Any Legislative Agenda’?

roccoRocco Landesman

Reiterating the NEA’s denial about the purpose of the notorious August 10, 2009 teleconference, Chairman Rocco Landesman doubled-down Tuesday:

“Fact 3: ‘This call was not a means to promote any legislative agenda and any suggestions to that end are simply false.”

Two weeks ago, the NEA’s initial denial stated:

“This call was not a means to promote any legislative agenda and any suggestions to that end are simply false.“

The White House issued its denial on September 9:

“the Aug. 10 teleconference ‘was not meant to promote any legislative agenda.”

Utterly consistent messaging, one must agree.

However, prior inconsistencies matter. Buffy Wicks’ clearly stated on the August 10th call:

“I’m at the Office of Public Engagement here at the White House… we work under Valerie Jarrett, she’s one of our fantastic leaders and Tina Tchen… I’m actually in the White House and working towards furthering this agenda, this very aggressive agenda… we need you, and we’re going to need your help, and we’re going to come at you with some specific asks here…”

Ms. Wicks closed:

We need your guys’ help to promote this.  We know that you all have channels and ability to get the message out far greater than we do here and the president’s put out the call… we know that you all are very powerful voices of change in your own right, and we’re looking to you for your help on that.”

Therefore, how can it be true that the conference call was not in fact meant toPromote any legislative agenda,” as the NEA and the White House collectively assert?

Does the phrase promote any legislative agenda” have any legal origins or ramifications that would explain its implication?

What significance might dwell in the phrase’s ostensibly well-coordinated use?

Serve.gov Somebody: NEA’s ‘Onramp for Agents of Change’

“It may be the Devil, or it may be the Lord. But, you’re gonna have to serve somebody.” – Bob Dylan

[There is a video that cannot be displayed in this feed. Visit the blog entry to see the video.]

“Rule #7: A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” – Saul Alinsky, Rules for Radicals

For a presidential candidate to dispatch his agents of Change® to recruit artists & entertainers into his campaign is one thing. He understandably wished to avoid becoming old news. Heck, even radical activists get bored. So, to maintain their excitement and involvement, professional community organizers must constantly devise new tactics. And, as so many enjoy smugly reminding us all, “the ‘One’ won!”

Poli-end-zone-dances notwithstanding, for the President of the United States of America to use the power of his Office and the lure of his NEA’s favor, potential grant funds and the ideological “yes, we-can-change-the-world” Hope® & prestige for artists to create promotional propaganda for his Serve.gov & Corporation for National & Community Service partisan political agenda, produces an entirely different pattern and data set.

As George Will recently observed, “I don’t know how many laws that breaks but I’m sure there are some.”

Ben Shapiro cites The Anti-Lobbying Act (19 U.S. Code §1913) & 31 U.S. Code §1352.

The Hatch Amendment has also been cited elsewhere.

In any case, this story along with the ACORN scandal, the President’s close ties and history with ACORN, coupled with his lesson plan, disseminated by the federal Dept. of Education — with whom Ms. Wicks “worked closely” – that assigned schoolchildren to “write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president” (IOW, ‘write letters to themselves about how they can become agents of change for the president’) raises many red flags and questions.

Is this Ms. Wicks ‘view’ towards “an onramp to a lifetime of service?”

I’m with this Marine:  “Stay Away From My Kids!” My kids are here to serve an higher power than any current fashionable ‘One.’

Professional forensic investigative journalists are now connecting the dots and reporting on the nexus, stalls, pens and troughs of the President’s national change agent (Animal Farm) agenda as organized through Serve.gov & ‘the Corporation’:

Serve.Gov/’United We Serve’

Corporation for National & Community Service

Organizing for America

White House Office of Public Engagement

Prior inconsistencies matter:

The NEA & White House responses assert:

NEA: “This call was not a means to promote any legislative agenda and any suggestions to that end are simply false. “

WH: “[T]he Aug. 10 teleconference ‘was not meant to promote any legislative agenda.’”

However,

Ms. Wicks stated on the call: “I’m actually in the White House and working towards furthering this agenda, this very aggressive agenda… we need you, and we’re going to need your help, and we’re going to come at you with some specific asks here… We’re actually running the government…  We need your guys’ help to promote this.

I’m actually in the White House and working towards furthering this agenda, this very aggressive agenda… we need you, and we’re going to need your help, and we’re going to come at you with some specific asks here.”

If not to promote the President’s legislative agenda (e.g., healthcare reform, cap and trade, not to mention his Dept. of Education lesson plans), then for what specifically did Ms. Wicks ask this collective of artists — that she clearly assumed to be strictly partisan Obama-supporters — for their help in promoting?

YOSI SERGANT: whether it’s health care, education, the environment, you know… My ask would be to apply artistic, you know, your artistic creative communities’ utilities and bring them to the table.
