NYC murder rate down, but 5 tough police precincts in Brooklyn, Bronx and Queens tally 25% of the city’s shootings

New York Daily News, by Rocco Parascandola, Barry Paddock* Posted By: JoniTx- Mon, 21 May 2012 15:22:51 GMT FIVE OF THE city’s police precincts account for one'fourth of all shootings — which are on the rise citywide, even as murder continues to drop. A Daily News analysis of crime statistics found that gunplay is sharply segregated, with residents of East New York, Brooklyn, dodging bullets with a regularity that would be incomprehensible to upper East Siders. “Gunshots in this area’s just like hearing the doorbell,” said Sade Kirkland, 21, a makeup artist who lives in East New York, where the 75th Precinct has recorded 28 people shot this year.“People across the street are killing each other for nonsense.”

Canada Free Press, by Judi McLeod Posted By: KarenJ1- Mon, 21 May 2012 15:17:45 GMT Act 1 of the completely orchestrated Tragedy, known by its insiders as the Re'Election of Barack Hussein Obama, is currently underway in Chicago. Mitt Romney’s new weapon to divide Democrats is Clinton

New York Daily News, by Jonathan Lemire Posted By: JoniTx- Mon, 21 May 2012 15:16:21 GMT Mitt Romney has unveiled a surprising new weapon to divide Democrats ' Bill Clinton.Romney has name'dropped the former President several times in recent days, praising Clinton in the same breath as he slams the current occupant of the White House. The motive for the unorthodox strategy seems clear: By complimenting Clinton for overseeing a reduction in government and an economic boom, Romney can contrast Obama as having done the opposite. “Romney’s primary goal is to suggest that Obama is well to the left of Bill Clinton,” said Larry Sabato, political science professor at the University of Virginia.

In return, they have not invited Robert to the memorial at Andre Balazs' Standard Hotel in New York. One of the organizers of the memorial, Karen Duffy, told the New York Daily News:

Mormons and Demons

American Spectator, by Jeremy Lott Posted By: StormCnter- Mon, 21 May 2012 14:58:56 GMT THEY WERE WORDS THAT still live in infamy. Mike Huckabee—Baptist minister, former governor of Arkansas, and dark horse candidate for the Republican nomination—was being pressed by a reporter for the New York Times Magazine about the religion of his rival, Willard Mitt Romney, before the 2008 Iowa caucuses. The reporter prodded Huckabee with an all'important question facing our Republic: Mormonism—cult or religion? “I think it’s a religion,” the skinny Arkansan said. “I really don’t know much about it,” he admitted. Then he stepped in it, big time. The Times noted that he asked with an “innocent voice” the following question:

A Rough Sunday for Team Obama

Townhall, by Guy Benson Posted By: KarenJ1- Mon, 21 May 2012 14:48:16 GMT The Sunday morning network chat shows typically distill and explore the major political themes of the week, with Republicans and Democrats grappling for narrative control. This week's programs were no exception, and suffice it to say that the Obama campaign didn't have a very productive weekend. Three of its surrogates strayed off message, handing the GOP a series of golden talking points: (1) Former top economic adviser Austin Goolsbee admitted what we've known for some time: President Obama is the "undisputed Debt King." Fox News Sunday's Chris Wallace laid down the facts, and Goolsbee

National Journal, by Josh Kraushaar Posted By: StormCnter- Mon, 21 May 2012 14:47:02 GMT Meet the Press has lately become a forum of campaign flubs from President Obama's leading surrogates. NewsBusters, by Noel Sheppard Posted By: KarenJ1- Mon, 21 May 2012 14:45:01 GMT With less than six months to go before Election Day, the Obama'loving media's advocacy has passed shameful and is now approaching downright unimaginable. Some top Democrats say yes, pointing to GOP stances on the debt limit and other issues that they claim are causing unnecessary economic anxiety and retarding growth. The latest Democratic complaint

Woman At GOP Congressman’s Town Hall: Obama Believes In Socialism, Communism, And Nazism

Mediaite, by Josh Feldman Posted By: KarenJ1- Mon, 21 May 2012 14:39:40 GMT You know what we haven’t had in a while? A good old fashioned town hall moment. There haven’t really been that many since the health care town halls in 2009, but yesterday, Congressman Joe Walsh heard some interesting opinions from a constituent. A woman interrupted Walsh to complain about the “seditious behavior” of people in elected office, and said that Obama should be honest about his political philosophy. What is that philosophy? According to this woman, “socialism… communism, Nazism, whatever.” (snip)Walsh was talking about his belief that he doesn’t think his political rivals are necessarily bad people, they’re just
